Helmuth MacMoltke is a relative of two famous German-Scottish military leaders -
one whose military achivements united Germany and brought the Empire to the apex of its power -
one who lost it all by failing to successfully carry through the
von Schlieffen Plan.
With the younger Helmuth not wanting to be overshadowed by the elder (his uncle), the two had a falling out leading to the famous
Helmuth to Helmuth Collission which is now penalized in most forms of
gridiron football.
Young MacMoltke is from the purely Scottish part of the family. Unlike his teammates, he has realised his lack of potential and nurtures no aspirations with regards to a military career. But unlike his famous ancestors who died from deteriorating health, MacMoltke hopes for a glorious violent death on the field of honour - namely the field of blood bowl - or as we professionals usually refer to it: the pitch of honour.
