Match notes
The Orcs from BL where heavy favorites in this semifinal against the Lizards from DD! So in order to compensate the 11 Lizards tried to even the odds and hired a Wizard, two apotechs, two babes, a RR and a master chef.

The food was not that great and only took one RR from BL to DD each half. This meant that they had 4 RR each.

The Orcs received and soon had the ball caged with Noels Trielsen. With an early SI on Dinomight! which a hired apotech failed to heal the Orcs compensated from the KO on Sulrik Vendsen.

Then the wizard came out on took the Thrower down, but he did so before the turn began, and a RR was lost on an illegal procedure. With the ball in a TZ a pick-up attempt was stalled for all others to block, which resulted in a turn over by Krox Tail of Terror.

So soon the Orcs was in top of the match, or so they thought. After turn 6 Muds Maff, who had the ball in a semi cage near the edge of the pitch close to the EZ, was surprised when McAaberg dodged out and took him down. The ball went to the crowd who threw it almost as far as possible away from the EZ deep into the Orcs pitch. With all the fast Orcs down at the cage, a skink who dodged out and picked the ball up, was practically out of reach, and although a TZ was put on him it was not a problem for the skink Tiny Dragon to score for 0-1 with only one turn left.

Before this, however, McAaberg had been pushed into the crowd by Dolf Ryrbye as a revenge for the sack. And the crowds almost killed him, had it not been for the work of the teams’ skilled apotech! So he was ready for the next drive. Still there was two down as the journey man skink had been BH by Dolf Ryrbye earlier in the half.

BL set up for a one turn chance, but that failed instantly after which DD took advantage and KOed Dolf Ryrbye a key player against skinks. And while Sulrik Vendsen woke up BL missed the tackler for 2nd half.

Although the Orcs were up 11 vs. 9, they were down 0-1 and were kicking to the Lizards. And the Lizards came out of the starting blocks with a quick snap and made a big hole in the Orcs defense. However, a bad block meant that the pick-up without RR failed and the ball lay just in reach of Noels Trielsen. After several good blocks, BLs Thrower had the ball in turn 1 of DD’s receiving turn.

From then on it was a fight to get a two dice block in on the strong thrower. And in the end the Lizards did manage to take him down. But only to see strong and agile Korbjørn Thaels take it next turn. During this BOB Rars Lasmussen tried to foul Ghost of a Gecko but even with only a stun he was thrown out!

But the Orcs was beginning to outnumber the Lizards, and although the last apotech managed to cure a BH on Master of Mayhem (by a piling Sulrik Vendsen) he was out for the drive, and they could only put TZs on the strong Blitzer.

So in the last turn Korbjørn Thaels only needed to make a simple blitz to score, and the team had not used any of the four RRs they had left after the chef had cooked. So it was great for overtime against a weak team with only one RR. But then the impossible happened – a double skull when anything else at the worst would have left a 2+ dodge! But the RR was well spend, and the offending Sauri was frenzied into the crowd, and then the TD was a reality 1-1 in the last turn of regular time.

BL still had 11 players, but was still missing the tackler, but even with babes a few Kos was failing to get back I, now and then for DD, and BL was 11 vs. 8 when they received for the first overtime half.

The ball ended almost in BLs EZ, but with a kick-off returning and quick snapping thrower he stood next to the ball after the kick. A completion later Korbjørn Thaels had the ball up over the LoS. But it was hard to get the ball further the next turn, so in the third turn he had to push it a couple of times to get into a fairly safe scoring position. After this move the Troll Der Pinesen BH Master of Mayhem and this time there was no apo to get him back.

In the end a simple blitz would be sufficient for Korbjørn Thaels to score for 2-1, but before that Sulrik Vendsen took one more pile and killed Mr. Scales!

The two of DDs KOs came back (on two times 2 – one of them the Krox who had failed once). But it was still only 7 players for the one turn attempt and a perfect defense there was no chance of tying in the 3rd half, but Lenny did BH Jemming Flørgensen. And then finally did also tackler Dolf Ryrbye wake up from his KO.

The Lizards had a fairly bad start of their receiving overtime half, but still they managed to get the ball in scoring reach in a cage with Apache Rose. BL did manage to block the way to TD completely, but a good block opened a hole, and four dodges later Apache Rose could push over the EZ line for 2-2.

But BL still had three turns to score for the victory. Alas again the ball ended almost in their own TD, but again with quick-snap and kick-off return, Noels Trielsen could hand-off to Korbjørn Thaels to get him up to the LoS. At this point the Lizards were outnumbered, and dodges began to fail. So next turn BL managed to make a safe cage with Korbjørn Thaels in scoring range. The Krox Tail of Terror could not get into the cage because a brave little gobo – Gåre Kyldenløve blocked his way. That resulted in a BH gobo! Then it was opened for a Sauri blitzing into the cage, but then the dangerous side stepper Apache Rose failed a dodge, and that settled the score.

With a simple blitz Sulrik Vendsen took the Sauri away and then Korbjørn Thaels could stroll in over the EZ line for the winning TD (and a hat-trick for him) 3-2. And the Orcs where in the final!
