DR had an extra apotech and a babe to even out the odds when facing the eleven dark elves from DE. With 30.000 fans cheering for the rats they hoped to stop the clean winning streak for the darkies. But although there where only eleven elfs (vs. 14), it is more like Oceans Elves! Only star quality players on the team.
DR was happy to receive first, but only until they were taken by surprise by a blitzing Morvian Hellstrike who SI Odin B. Then Armathor Bloodslaker ran under the ball and caught the kick.
Although Holy Spirit managed to blitz the runner, and annoy him enough that the dumb-off was inaccurate, the elves where so lucky it bounced to Morvian Hellstrike who caught it. Thus next turn the runner had the ball again. DR stopped going for the ball, and focused on fouling an elf, without effect, but it was soon to turn out different when dirty Tyr B kicked a downed elf.
But first Armathor Bloodslaker ran the ball safe and then (free of the ball) Morvian Hellstrike went for the hated Holy Spirit and managed to SI the runner. (Part of the bounty had been placed by DE after the teams' first meeting). The hired apotech managed to heal the broken angle (thus retaining the runners speed), but while taking a grip on Holy Spirit's foot, the quacksalver tripped him so hard that the runner broke his skull instead!
Things looked bleak for DR, when Loke retaliated by BHing Dragathil Blackwolf, removing DE's best player to take the ball from Jesus. And to get all even Tyr B was successful in his 2nd foul SI Maiketh Cavegni. The apotech was not used, and suddenly only 9 elves where left for the rest of the match. They also did not dare to stall, so Armathor Bloodslaker passed for Kayleen Darkscream and she scored for 0-1.
2nd drive began as the previous ended. Tyr B BH Cavalanche Blackrose in a foul, and with a KO from the blocking it was suddenly 11 vs. 7. Two turns later another foul by Tyr B also BH Echtellion Bearstruck thus he had removed both DE's guard already. And with Morvian Hellstrike KOed as well DR had no trouble letting Jesus score for 1-1 at the end of the half.
DRs sole KO Buddha came back in, only to get KOed again by a rock thrown be the fans, and then ElīTael Darksun SI Heimdal C. This time the KOed thrower failed to get in, but still it was 10 rats vs. 6 for 2nd half.
Nevertheless the elves managed to get a TD, although both Kayleen Darkscream and Armathor Bloodslaker had to push it all they could in order for the latter to connect a long bomb to the witch for 1-2.
DR then received with 11 vs. 7 players as the rain started to pour down, and three turns later Jesus ran the ball in for the TD for 2-2. But not until Morvian Hellstrike made his 3rd casualty, DE's first BH of the day, by piling on Saturn.
It was still quite and open match - that was until DR got their blitz of the day. ElīTael Darksun was taken down in the blitz, and Jesus ran to catch the ball. Guarded by The Mother and two other rats he was almost impossible to reach directly. A foul on ElīTael Darksun by Tyr B send the blitzer out KO.
Morvian Hellstrike instead went for The Mother but failed to hurt her even when piling on. Getting down voluntarily was not the smartest move to make while Tyr B was around. Jesus ran to safety and yet another BH resulted from a foul - Tyr B's fourth to top Morvian Hellstrike, at the same time as BHing him. It was his last foul of the day. But he managed 11 fouls resulting in 4 cas and 4 KOs with out getting spotted by the ref at all!
At this point DR was up 10 vs. 3 players, and planned to stall for a sure 3-2 victory. But agile witch Kayleen Darkscream had other plans. With four turns left she dodged through to Jesus taking him down, getting the ball. DR then managed to take her down, and Jesus retained the ball. Only to see Kayleen Darkscream dodge through three TZ, twice, and once more she took him down, stunned this time, and grabbed the ball.
As DE could no longer score, DR only needed to focus on getting the ball. And with a full team ganging up on a single witch and with tackle and team training Loke managed to take her down stunned. The ball ended inside the inverted cage that had been around the witch, so DR had no player that could reach it. Instead The Mother ran into position and Jesus woke up.
The last standing dark elf Ethuil Malice tried to blitz The Mother down (which would have made it harder, but not impossible for DR to score.) But he failed to get her down. A blitz later, The Mother was free and Jesus ran to the ball and handed it to her. But oh no the rain made the ball slip away from her Luckily her great catching abilities made her grab it again and then she ran the ball in for the 3-2 victory.
DR's MVP of course went to The Mother who in the end closed the deal, and DE's MVP went to Dragathil Blackwolf who was the first elf to get injured!
DR thus ended the winning streak of DE, and continued their own "no loss streak" all through the season. As they are now sure to end in top two in their group they will be able to erase one MNG before the play-off, thus Holy Spirit will not miss next match although he will lose his armour
