After just one match WWW faced DR again, and this time DR was not as battered as last time, so it was an even match on paper.
DR received the ball as a rock from the many rat fans KOed G-Star. The ball was safe with Buddha but in the meantime WWW equalled the score when Mail Online.dk fouled Pluto KO. The elves could not stop the TD though, as Buddha completed to Poseidon, a storm vermin, who much to everybody's surprise scored the match first TD for 0-1.
This gave DR the right spirit and they came blitzing out after the kick. Poseidon pushed TDC Online Mail out of the way, so Jesus could get a chance to catch the kick. Most of DR's players actually made it over there. But with two opposing elves breathing down his neck (the other Zap da pain) Jesus failed the catch. But the ball ended up in both his and strong Poseidon's TZ.
WWW failed to move any of the two players, although on the LoS Nichlas Kossman BH Thor B. But they could maybe have gotten the ball anyway, had it not been for Jack Lumber who went down with a loud Timber, when he attacked Frej B. A few blocks later both elves near the ball was taken down, however, Zap da pain side stepped so he fell on the ball, which then ended up in another elfs TZ.
This did, however, not bother Jesus, who jumped to the ball, grabbed it and ran all he could, and made it for the TD 0-2 in less than half a half.
WWW ran several players in position with the ball safe in the hands of Tonny "Let arm". DR went for the obvious target, Fast catch, and Buddha took him down stunned. Then Frej B fouled him, but only stunned again. WWW could do better as Mail Online.dk fouled Holy Spirit BH, and when they did not score the TD, Frej B started the turn by fouling Fast catch again. This time it was a KO, but it was spotted and the fouler was sent off.
In the end WWW waited till just before the half finished and then Lightning Feet scored their first TD for 1-2.
But they had left time enough for Jesus to try a one turn attempt. And with two great blocks he was suddenly in position with the ball and a few dodges later it was 1-3.
However, this went so fast that also Fast catch awoken from the KO easily copied Jesus for his own one turner and it was 2-3 at half time. First then did Pluto wake up from his turn 1 KO…
WWW received and send players down pitch again. Loke was tagging catcher Lightning Feet and should not have done so, cause Nichlas Kossman blitzed him away and killed him. But the apotech would hear none of this and saved the kicking line-rat. But now it was no problem for Lightning Feet to score for 3-3 to tie the match for the first time since turn 2.
DR's fans was still cheering and although they were down on players, the remaining players were in much better condition (6 RRs now vs. 2), never the less the rats came under great strain when Axton SI The Mother, and Mail Online.dk takes God down. The problems continue as the first thing to happen after this is that God tries to dodge and falls stunned.
Now Jesus can be blitzed by Zap da pain, but luckily his dodge and sure hands keeps him on his feet with the ball! And no RR is spend there by the elves. But still no other runners are awake, so Jesus has to take a little chance, but it works as he passes the ball directly to Poseidon who scores his 2nd TD of the match for 3-4. A very important TD for DR!
WWW gets the ball close to the LoS in the hands of Tonny "Let arm". But it is too easy for DR to tag the only player close to him, so when Loke blitz the thrower, the dump-off is accurate but the catch by Jubii Mail fails. Thus the ball lies for Jesus to take it. He leaps in, although with difficulties, and runs with the ball, and to ensure WWW cannot score he passes it out of reach, or at least that was the plan. At this moment he fumbles.
And then a blitz by Axton takes Jesus away and then the thrower Tonny "Let arm" manages a pass to G-Star who ties the match again 4-4.
However, plenty of time is left for DR to retaliate, and the ball lies perfect for Buddha to grab. First though several players including God gets into scoring position. Jesus plans to do the same, but just in case he stays back to see if the ball is acquired as expected by Buddha… And no it was not, even with his extra sure hands…
Now it seems the match very likely will go into overtime, and when Axton blitzes God BH only 9 rats will be ready for this with Jesus the only runner. However, DR has plenty of RR for the overtime vs. nil for WWW. Still the elves have all their players ready. So it becomes very important for DR to score in their last turn. WWW has no chance to do so, but it is still their turn!
And now something very strange happens. A tired Zap da pain does something unheard off. Maybe he was just tired, maybe he was in awe of Jesus? Maybe he just did not wish to go into a very long overtime, or had lost the interest in the play-offs? Or maybe he was just a great player who hated too see such a lot of bad pick-ups and fumbles by his opponents? We may never know.
What he did was that he leapt to the ball near Buddha, grabbed it, dodged away and then… passed it straight to Jesus, who of course caught it! Jesus was a little stunned, but after a second had passed he thanked God for his luck, and ran all he could to hand it to Pluto who then ran the ball in for the winning TD in the dying seconds of the match 4-5.
DR was on to the semi final, for the third season running!
The fans decided that they had seen an event of true sportsmanship, and although neither Zap da pain received a completion or Jesus scored the TD, they both received plenty of spps as the MVPs went to these two friendly players!
But the event went on to be discussed in detail in the Aros BB league for a long time…
