For the fifth time in five seasons the Bunnies face the Divine Rats, and once again without any luck. (One tie is their best result so far.)
After a hard match against Olvig Vikings the Bunnies had to field 3 journeymen and they uses their inducements on two apotechs and a babe.
The match begins alright for the bunnies, with their fans cheering, as Ko Π manages two completions in two turns, the 2nd a safe throw past would be interceptor Holy Spirit, to Lone Star who then proceeds to score for 1-0.
DR receives against a perfect defence, but keeps the ball safe deep in their own pitch at Holy Spirit. When a bunny next tries to dodge away from God he takes her down and shadows up next to Bodil Khat, only to continue by taking her out BH in a block. Holy Spirit then hands the ball to Jesus who ties the match 1-1.
Ko Π manages to both catch the high-kick, complete a pass and then get the ball back on a hand-off in a semi cage in the receiving turn. But it is just no good enough as it is no problem for Holy Spirit to leap in and blitz the ball from her. It bounces right and Jesus gets to it and hands off to God. Claire Voyance manages, with some effort to get a blitz in on God but to no avail. And after some ineffective blocking DR takes a chance when handing the ball to Jesus, but he makes it and dodges past Ko Π for the TD for 1-2.
Once again Ko Π goes for the completion helped by a quick snap, but still, a needed go for it almost fails, and even though the pass is accurate Claire Voyance fails the catch. It is now easy for Jesus to get the ball in a kind of cage. That is there is no cage against Claire Voyance, and this time she succeeds and takes him down. But the ball ends in two TZ and Ko Π fails the difficult pick-up. Next turn Jesus has the ball again and no one tries to hit him, so he scores for 1-3 in the half's last turn.
DR receives for 2nd half where the high kick ends in the stands for a touch back to Jesus. Bunnies defence is concentrated on keeping Ko Π and Lone Star safe, so Jesus can run almost out of reach at the other sideline, and with Holy Spirit as backup and the rest of the team attacking, the Bunnies don't even run after him so next turn it is 1-4 by Jesus.
Once again the Bunnies quick snaps out of the starting holes, and this time Ko Π manages her completion and gets the ball back safely down their own pitch. But in the end only three Bunnies gets into scoring position as a journeyman fails her dodge and becomes BH.
DR attacks the receiver Billie Luder and surrounds the two blitzers, and then 4 players run down pitch too. So Ko Π is forced to throw a long bomb, but she does that in style. Sadly the many TZ's on Lone Star is too much and she fails the catch. DR cannot get her down, but with only her TZ on the ball The Mother still manages to get the ball and runs and pass it to Jesus who then scores for 1-5. With that TD he comes in tied 1st on the list of League Top Scorers with 49 TDs. And there are still turns to take the 1st spot for him self.
And with a perfect defence DR and Jesus are helped a lot. Bunnies use all remaining 9 players to completely surround Ko Π in a closed cage. So no chance to strip her from the ball - but also no chance for Bunnies to score next turn! DR's 11 players surround this cage (a double cage) but a successful block makes it possible for Ko Π to manage a completion within the cage to Lone Star, who then leaps out and runs all she can to get a chance for a TD next turn.
But it is to no help as Holy Spirit manages to daunt him self up to be strongest, with a little help from a friend, and strips the ball from Lone Star. Jesus then takes it, runs all he can and passes to The Mother.
No bunny can get at her, but of course Jesus wishes to complete the taking of the 1st spot on the list. To do so he just needs to push him self over the EZ line and then get the ball back from The Mother, but oh no! The thought of the 50th TD in DRs 50th match gets at him and he falls over the line and becomes stunned, loosing his chance to score before the match ends. What a bummer for Jesus, but it is good for The Mother who's still not attacked and can score her 5th TD instead for the result 6-1.
Ko Π manages one more completion, her 7th, But is was also much to her despair that Jesus failed, cause else she might have made one more. She is now only two completions from tying 2nd on the top thrower list, but even then she would be 70 completions short of her idol Synne Buch. Incidentally Jesus is the only non thrower on that list in 12th place.
That ended a miserable match for the Bunnies which saw them loose with 5 TDs for the first time ever, and it was also the first time DR scored 6 TDs in one match, taking them above the 5 TDs in their last three matches. Their TD difference in those four matches: 21-2!
