The heavily favoured orcs was up against no less than two babes, two extra apotechs, one extra RR and yet another wizard. But only 12 rats…
The orcs received in the fine weather and began to drive down the centre of the pitch. Helped on by the fact that the very first block by Tue Borc resulted in a BH linerat - Brage A.
But they had forgotten Holy Spirit who soon came leaping in to the cage and took a one dice hit at ball carrier Arrg he did manage to stay upright with the ball though. And soon the rats where split all over the pitch.
But the "cage" was now on the side line and had not considered the wizard. If he this time (unlike last seasons final) could send his bolt at the target Jesus was ready to get the ball and pass it down pitch. But OH NO, once again the useless rat wizard failed his target. (Satans også en forbier! ;))
And four KOs and towards the end of the half a BH by Nullergøj on Tyr B left only 5 rats to try to stop the TD. The BH line rat was saved for next half though by an induced apotech. And in the last turn Arrg scored for 0-1.
With two stand firm blitzers and a side stepping Gno DR had a slim chance to score a one turner, and even with a perfect defence did the orcs not change a thing. And it did fail.
However, DR's fans made a riot at the start of second half and stole 3 turns from the half. This could be a huge advantage for DR if they could score slowly enough. With the babes in the KO box they could still field 11 for 2nd half. But they did have trouble moving down pitch.
But a great change of sites pushing several players and getting some great blocks in, and Jesus was on the way down pitch. And towards the end a huge number of rats made sure Jesus had an easy TD. That is until Nullergøj dodged and pushed it all he could to take down God BH and still standing next to Jesus. If the stand firm blitzer could not be moved Jesus would have had a tough run for the tying TD, but up Uranus the Vermin said and took Nullergøj down so Jesus had a free TD to tie the match 1-1.
With one turn left Gno could have tried to win the match with a flying TD, but yet another riot by DR's happy fans stole the last turn of the match!
In overtime DR received and still had 11 players as the other hired apotech had been used on God. And with all 5 RR left and the team apo they where looking good. Without any trouble Jesus got the ball in scoring range and with a turn to go he only needed to dodge past Jean D'Orc and go over the EZ. But no he was almost there but failed the last dodge. However, the blitzer then failed the pick-up using a valuable RR, and Jesus got another try, dodging past the blitzer taking it and then almost falling on the last dodge for the TD, but team RR was used to score 2-1.
Once again Gno was ready to try the flying TD, but after a high kick and a perfect hand-off the troll Krøllebølle for the first time in the match did not know what to do in spite of being such a pro the entire match. Grumf did manage to SI Balder B in the last turn though. 2-1 with the last overtime half left for the orc.
So DR faced the orcs that needed to score quickly, with 10 players vs. 11, 4 RR vs. 2 and a leader, and still the team apotech.
Once again the orcs began with a casualty when Nullergøj made his 3rd BH of the match on Uranus who had ensured the tying TD in second half by taking the blitzer down. But finally this was enough for Zeus who then blitzed Nullergøj down BH as well.
The orc cage had H. T. Bush with the ball, but it moved way to slow. And now the troll just did not want to perform. After two turns he desperately needed to block a line rat down, but first he did not know what to do, then he suddenly knew it, but not really :p
This made it almost impossible to move down pitch for any player to get into scoring position. And Gno had been stunned in a blitz by Zeus. In the end Arrg had to try to dodge away from God, an impossible task and of course he failed, thus ending the orcs chances for tying the game. In the last turns Thor B BH Grumf as his old niggling nagged at him, but this was unimportant at the time, DR had won the match and was on to the semi finals.
The MVPs went to Bongomann who became a star on this match and Balder B who will miss next match, but will learn a new skill for the final!
It was the two teams fifth match-up, fourth time in the play-offs, last time was in the final, where Elf Huggers of course won. DR had taken 3rd place first season they played, and now they have taken each other out once each in the play-off. The fifth match was a group match that went to the orcs.
It is also the second season running that DR takes out last season's champions in the quarterfinals! Maybe they can make it all the way this time!
