The Damsels took advantage of the sweltering heat with their full reserves against DR with only 11 rats to field.
In the first drive the Damsels decided to kick to the rats, who took full advantage of their four players with enhanced tackling abilities. But they just could not remove any dames.
But after half a half Jesus decided to score an easy TD for 0-1. And then the heat struck. Not only the scoring runner but also Zeus, Buddha and two more line rats leaving DR only 6 players ready for the second drive.
And to make matters worse the riot from the Damsels fans caused the ref to turn back the time so they had most of a full half to tie the game. On top of this the first blitz KOed God and he stayed out the rest of the match.
So with only three mainly rookie line rats, an experienced Loke and a single runner Holy Spirit DR had to try to stop the Damsels cage. To begin with Loke made an effort and killed pinching pona. But the apo saved her life. Still this made a star out of Loke who learned to Fend.
From then on it was a 5 vs. 10 on pitch, and as the Damsels failed to remove any of these five Holy Spirit did manage to find a hole in the tight cage to leap in an blitz the ball carrier before the whistle blew. And haps the ball was striped from grasping gina. And no less than three TZ was placed on the ball. The heat had also used up Damsels reserves so the players where pretty much to themselves and the ball had to be picked up in one TZ. But the agile catching duo managed what was needed after several blocks and dodges, and the hand-off from grasping gina was successful and surefooted sheanne tied the match 1-1.
At least none of the five rats was exhausted for the second half, but without the KO it was only 10 vs. 11. Or so it would have been, but the heat had distracted the Damsel coach (or he was being fair) and only 10 Dames where fielded.
Immediately their cage and ball carrier was under attack and two attacks in a row the ball was taken from the ball carrier. But then a pass from surefooted sheanne to Bad Bethany gave the Dames a chance to out run the two GodRunners who where both down. Jesus came running after her, but when Holy Spirit tried the same he failed his leap.
Still Bad Bethany was too slow to be able to score before getting caught up by Jesus, but since he had to take her on alone he failed miserably and she scored with a third of the half left for 2-1.
Just before this injuring inga had BH Balder B and with the KO not coming in and another rat falling to the heat it was only 8 rats for the last attempt to tie the match. Of course also some of the Dames was exhausted but not to take them below 11 players.
Quickly Jesus placed himself on the LoS guarded by three other rats in scoring reach. But for a moment DR's coach where holding his breath cause the agile grasping gina was preparing to dodge into the cage, so a simple blitz on Holy Spirit would subsequently have showed Jesus off pitch. Luckily the tackler Loke prevented this from happening. A new cage was formed in the mid of the Damsels pitch, but again the Dames surrounded it pretty well.
In the end, after almost failing his first dodge Holy Spirit made it to the EZ and then Jesus dodged out and passed it for the tying TD for 2-2 ending the match.
Holy Spirit of course received the MVP for this important TD, whereas ungentle ulla took it for the Dames, and she learned her second skill, tackle, from this.
