Match notes
Un-Dead vs. Immortal Gods.

Well the dead were restless and came out blitzing. But luckily for DR they had left both their star players Setekh and Hack Enslash off pitch in the first drive. (One by error the other by choice!).

Blitzing Wotan took down Madonna and Lilach fouled her KO. The ref seemed to notice this, but he must have taken a bribe cause he looked the other way… All this was too much for Zeus who in return KOed Wotan. But the turn ended miserably for the rats as Odin A made a forced dodge away from a mummy that came out of nowhere on the blitzing move. This failed and ended his life. Or not really as he is a God, and he decided to go and play for the undead as Odin ReAnimated! But the ball was secure with Jesus after a safe completion by Buddha (who learned tackle from that).

Next turn Zeus BH Lilach thus clearing out both reasons for the KO of Madonna. But the latter regenerated and the first woke up for next drive… But now Jesus could dodge through the undead lines and run way down their pitch. And when first God had his diving TZ on Machai and Loke tackled down Ripper no undead could reach anywhere near the fastest God alive. And thus he could score un-challenged for 0-1 next turn.

The cheering of the fans followed DR as the undeads received. But it quickly subsided when Hack Enslash cut down God sending him out BH. Once again Zeus took the revenge on his hands, and BH the chainsaw wielder and as he failed to regenerate and the bribe were used Zhathan's chose not to waste their hired igor on the skeleton.

Now the undeads became seriously afraid of Zeus and after getting him down it took two fouls (without being spotted) by regenerated Lilach to KO the clawed God.

In the meantime the two remaining runners attacked ball carrier Machai. First Holy Spirit failed a leap. But then Jesus dodged in and striped the ball from the Ghoul. But once again Holy Spirit made a bad move. Stupidly he jumps in to the ball square, but there are so many players around that his chance of obtaining it is very slim. And ironically it then bounces back to none other than Machai. That leap was all bad as Wotan then could block him BH right after.

But even with only Jesus on pitch he once more strips the ball from Machai, much helped by the fact that Setekh chooses to kill him self in a failed go for it. But he manages to place his head on his shoulders in the dug out and returns regenerated on his own accord to the reserve box. But the ball remained on the ground and once again Machai gets the ball and at the same time Thoth SI Frej B learning to break tackle from this.

However, the TD is still not sure cause in the dying seconds of the half, Muhammad finally manages to do something and he blitzes the ghoul out to the sideline next to Ripper. To get past him and his tale for the TD is now very difficult for Machai, and Jesus and a few other rats blocks the way for help. But a brave zombie saves the day by blitzing Jesus showing him out of the way so he can push it to help Ripper. The ghoul now matches strength with Muhammad and takes him down thus clearring the path for a TD by Machai to tie first half 1-1. This, however, came too late for Brage who tried to follow in his father Odin A's footstep by also getting killed (by Wotan). But the undeads did not want anymore zombie gods…

In second half DR kicked to Zhathan's with only 9 vs. 11 players. And then the fans decided to invade the pitch, stunning two players from each team. But not the two ghouls or the two remaining runners left Jesus and Madonna. Soon the difference between the teams was evened somewhat out as Loke BH Wotan (who regenerated). Then once again Machai was striped of the ball, but now when Ripper finally grabs the ball to protect it with his sure hands, he ends up getting blitzed towards two line rats, and in the second attempt Tyr takes him down KOed. And the ball ends up well protected on the ground by the remaining rats.

This match is ours DR thinks, just before a fire ball emerges out of nowhere directly above Madonna and destroys every hope for the rats. The fire SI Madonna and the blast knocks down a line rat and worse for the rats it also BHs Jesus. Those where the only three rats in range of the wizard's potent magic! (This was the first time this season that all four DR runners were injured in one match, and also the first time one of them will miss a match!)

Suddenly no runners are left on pitch, and as Buddha had been pushed off pitch earlier only 6 rats are left against the 9 undeads. Although only two agile undeads are left this is enough, as Machai now can take the ball without fearing to get it striped. Nevertheless Mars manages to dodge out past a mummy to take a one dice blitz on the ghoul, but he is just pushed, and soon only 4 rats are left. And as Muhammad has been tied up by a zombie he cannot take down, nothing can prevent Machai from scoring the winning TD…

That is… The coach of Zhatan's has been looking worriedly on Death Extravagante who wins all their games in the other upper bracket Group A. And the winner of Group B would for sure meet these smashing Dark Elf in the final cross over. This would preferably be avoided by the coach, so in the end he hopes a tie will be little enough for him to avoid first place in the group, and the ghoul is ordered not to score so the match ends 1-1.

This choice can potentially be very important for DR, who with one more point for the season has a much better chance of getting through to the play-off. And if Zhathan's are a little unlucky they may even meet their worst fear anyway. However, for their lack of courage some of their fans decided to leave them and instead follow the brave rats, who fought to the end, with only a rat ogre and two line rats who took down mummies and wights and fouled again and again just for the fun of it. Alas to no avail and Tyr even got send of without even breaking amour… (thus making it three on pitch for the last two turns.)

But the ghoul Machai was awarded for his tactic decision with increased strength right after the match… Whereas Zeus were awarded the MVP for his two casualties inflicted before his own KO. He has now also learned to guard better to replace the lost skills of Odin A.
