The two evenly match teams crashed in front of two evenly matched crowds. (13 k each). Only few fans had turned up even in the fabulous but blinding sunshine that lasted the entire match.
DR received and after a hand-off from Jesus, Holy Spirit could run the ball in for a two turn TD. This really set the rats on fire and they came out blitzing as Loke kicked the ball close to the LoS. It was Muhammad who did the blitzing, BH George Weasley on his way to put his TZ on the target square. Then Jesus ran into position and several other rats got through as well.
The ball came down and even though Armathor Bloodslaker was standing next to Jesus the latter managed to catch it. Then the darkies finally woke up and attacked, with Dragathil Blackwolf leaping in to blitz, but he failed to strip the ball from Jesus, who had more sure hands than Extravagante's coach had anticipated! But still Armathor Bloodslaker had a shot at taking Jesus down, but with the RR used on the leap it failed completely as Jesus took the runner down instead. And then Jesus could run the ball to safety and in turn 4 it was 0-2 for DR.
With the rats perfect defence the Darkies were under attack again from the start. To Muhammad it seemed like a good idea to get his TZ on to Armathor Bloodslaker who where next to the side line. But a blitz resulted in him being subsequently pushed to the side line and then Maiketh Cavegni took a one dice chance and got him off pitch, but only stunned. Nevertheless Armathor Bloodslaker soon had to try a dump-off anyway when Holy Spirit attacked. It was accurate, but the catch failed. Eventually the ball bounced to ElīTael Darksun who caught it. But already a turn later he were also blitzed by Holy Spirit who dodged into two TZ and even being dauntless had 2 dices against. But ElīTael Darksun could choose to be either wrestled to the ground next to the side line or side step away from there but only to be smacked down. He chose the latter, and the ball ended in only Kayleen Darkscream's TZ. So Jesus was there and grabbed the ball ready to pass it out of reach, but then double 1 on the dodge away send him to the ground. Kayleen Darkscream hence obtained the ball and scored for 1-2 in the last turn of the half.
During the half the elves had taken both Loke and Zeus out SI, and Freja BH, but with the KOs they had them selves, it was 11 rats vs. 10 elves for 2nd half. Ethuil Malice who made two of these casualties learned side step from this.
And the attack of Holy Spirit continued. Once again a dump-off was not caught, but Jesus failed to dodge through to the ball. This was not a problem though, as the elf's had two separate double both down, and Kayleen Darkscream went down leaving the ball easy to retrieve by Jesus who could then pass it accurately, despite the sun, to a waiting Holy Spirit who scored for 1-3.
Same happened next turn, and this time Armathor Bloodslaker even fumbled on a double 1. But the ball ended in 3 elf's TZ, so Muhammad and God tried to make it difficult to get it. But in the end Kayleen Darkscream got it and was ready to pass it down pitch from the TZ of Balder A. Sadly for the elf's Balder A just stuck out his arm and wrestled the ball from her. (From this interception he learned to wrestle). Jesus was also standing next to Balder A and after a hand-off Jesus could run out of blitzing reach. A fifth dauntless blitz by ST 1 Holy Spirit (the only that needed a RR to get Dauntless to work) took down Kayleen Darkscream and the runner could then block the way down to Jesus, who could score for 1-4 next turn uncontested. (As the elf's focused on fouling Muhammad he dared not stall).
At this point the rats let the elf's have the pitch, and gave them an "easy" two turn TD for 2-4 by Dragathil Blackwolf who also learned wrestle. That was ensured with a long pass by Kayleen Darkscream the turn before from which she learned to block. The whole attack was nearly compromised though, by the pitch invasion that took down 2 players from each team.
DR now had one final turn and after catching a high kick Jesus proceeded to pass, with the help of a RR, to Madonna who managed the catch because she had just learned catch. It just worked with 2, 1, 2, 1, 2 rolls and thus Jesus became the leagues only 2nd active star and increased his MA as did the first star Holy Spirit when he crossed that line. Madonna got the MVP for her inspired catch!
Finally Muhammad killed Evon Black but the apo managed to turn it to a SI. And then the other two left as LoS footer where KOed, one first after a last turn foul though :p
