The Gods had the most fans and that turned out to help a lot, as they cheered the rats on three times during the match, and threw a stunning rock also. Apart from that DR also got the better of the rest of the kick-offs!
Beginning with a blitz, that resulted in Jesus catching the ball halfway down the Guardians pitch inside a well protected cage. Two turns later (still only turn 2!) he passed for a TD by God for 1-0.
The next drive was quite exciting as Holy Spirit first stripped the ball from a catcher and then wrestled Lathien Farsight to the ground releasing the ball once more. But in both cases the other two GodRunners failed to get to it. And Jesus who fell on a dodge was KOed in a foul and remained so for the rest of the match (5 more drives!) And then the Guardians managed to score for 1-1, but only because the inaccurate pass by Faelar Brightstar scattered on to the intended target Silven Morningfall who then claimed it anyway and scored! (But it was not counted as a completion!)
DR had a descend chance to get ahead but good defence kept the score 1-1 at half time. But a couple of KOed elfs stayed out even though a Blood Bowl Babe was around! So it was 10 Gods vs. 9 Guardians. And 3 turns later God scored again. (And thus he learned Side Step). Before that Zeus used his new Claw to BH Saevel Starflower. But with the elfs KOs coming back it was 10 vs. 10 the rest of the match.
A failed pickup by Lathien Farsight left the ball free on the ground, and God got hold of it, but then a pass attempt to get it out of Elfs reach is fumbled into two DR TZs. And only one could be removed by the elfs. But then a key move is made by the Guardians. Without any team-RRs left the thrower Lathien Farsight grabs the ball in the TZ, dodges out and pushes it to a short pass throw to Silven Morningfall who catches it in a TZ, and then dodges out through this for the TD for 2-2. Great play! Lathien Farsight got a strong arm from that move.
But this leaves 4 turns for the rats, and although they are actually set back by the quick snap they achieve to begin with (too many blocks leaves no free players!) in the end God can make it three TDs in a row by one dodge and two pushes and the score is 3-2.
In the last turn the elves make some random blocking and Jastra Dawnbringer BH Frej, but they never tried to one turn. The MVP and a last turn completion gave Aien Brightpool kick and Faelar Brightstar guard respectively.
